We are crazy about Vintage Groove III designed by Jill schwartz!  This line is beautiful and inspiring to say the least.  Jill is always right on trend with her designs.  

Supplies

Vintage Groove III Pendant Pearl Flower

Vintage Groove III Strand Chain & Ribbon

1. Add the 3 pendants to the strand, these are going to layover the chain to keep a cute short necklace

2. Clip off the bottom loop of the silver flower charms with wire cutters

3. Connect the teal stone and silver flowers to create the earrings

4. Add earring wires

 

This necklace is bold with a vintage feel - we LOVE it!

A Studio Sneak Peak

Today I'm going to give you a sneak peak into my studio. I love to share it with people because it's so inspirational to me. So without further ado, here is my studio.

If you haven't guessed, I love collecting things - lots of things - because they become a source of inspiration for me. I can't tell you how many times, I go into my studio and look around when I'm needing that extra spark of creativity.

I have never been an 'out-of-the-box' kind of girl. Instead I prefer to mix things up. I love combining things that most people do not think of combining. It doesn't matter whether I'm decorating my house or creating jewelry or trying to find something to wear, my rule is always, mix things up.

They so inspire me!!! I can't help but notice that my life everywhere is about many layers. I love how textures play
Together and whether I am working with my own designs,dressing myself , decorating my house I see how much combinations tickle me . I surround myself with things in many different ways. These shots are from all around my studio, they are little vignettes that tickle the eye.

You will find that it's easier to find new combinations when you create, if you surround yourself with a variety of things. Look outside of jewelry making or scrapbooking to find your next combination that will inspire you.

Inspiration from Jill - Staying Consitent

One thing I learned in design school oh so many years ago is to have a concept and stay true to it. So with that in mind, my rule of thumb is to show that concept when displaying my jewelry at trade shows, retail shows or on the web. I also use this rule in my graphics so the company image is reinforced over and over again in a consistent way.  It's important to stay fresh, but people need to know it’s ‘you’ because of the consistent style and feel.

Case in point, here are some visuals of my booth and graphics that bring this point home. Notice the elements are different, but the look and feel is consistent.

Keept that in mind when you are finding your style when creatiing jewerly. Find out what look and feel you like and start creatiing around what you love.

 

Inspiration from Jill - Everyday Findings

Inspiration for me comes pretty easy. All I have to do is open my eyes and look around and my brain starts to get ideas for new projects. I am always taking photos as reminders so I can take the inspiration I find and turn them into things that I love. So let me take you on a virtual inspiration tour so you can start picking up on inspiration that you might come across.

This porch rocks!!!! I love how these very contemporary and bright globes hang within this vintage house that is very exquisite.  This is the approach I like to use when I create jewelry - a mix betewen elegant and cool. I like juxtaposing different styles to create something unique.

Ok so butterflies…..butterflies are everywhere.  The new Vintage Groove II collection has a new silver vintage butterfly pendant in its collection. You can never go wrong with this beautiful insect.

Isn’t this inspiring? The patchwork boat is very exciting to come across.  The play of color among the repurposed wood plays beautifully and quite subtly against each other.  There is incredible texture.  I am noticing that I am attracted to this pod like shape that is a in this boat and other things I have been running across.

So today's challenge is take a walk or look around as you are running from place to place and notice little pieces of inspiration that you can use for your next project.

 

Inspiration from Jill - Favorite New Spots

I just recently moved into a new house. I am having a great time creating a new nest for myself. I have been a little cautious about putting holes in the wall, so I have been careful about chosing my surroundings. Have I gone minimal? Quite unlike my maximal self but I sure am liking it. Here's a few shots of some of my favorite new spots. I hope they provide a little glimps into what inspires me so you can be inspired for your next crafting project.
