We have found an awesome technique for you to try out! Creating your own herringbone paper pattern! This is a great way to use all of your paper scraps and be able to combine your own colors to get the exact look you want.
We were inspired by this pin from pinterest on how to create a herringbone block for quiliting. Of course since we are working with paper and wanted to keep a 12" x 12" paper size we altered the instructions. However, wouldn't it be amazing to create a herringbone block quilt?
The FINISHED look - Modern Millinery Double-Sided Paper

1. Pick 2 to 6 different patterns
2. Cut paper into 2" x 12" strips [could go down to 9"]
3. Layout strips in the order that you want them in the pattern

4. Tape 2 strips together by flipping the papers over and using clear tape on the both ends

5. Choose a base paper - note the pattern will show a little at the bottom so make sure it is one you like.
6. Draw a line down the middle [6" mark]

7. Now to the fun part - line up the first set of two strips at the angle you want. We lined ours up with the bottom corner of the strip, with your ruler draw a line so you know where to cut. Repeat this step for the next two sets of two strips.

8. Ok this is kind of the tricky part, but a nice short cut. Now that you have cut lines drawn on the three sets for the the leftside of the paper we can match them up with the right side papers and just make one cut.

9. You will the tape sides together and then make the cut that you have drawn. Then they are both at the same angle and ready to go. Way better then measuring again.

10. Add adhesive [we used double sided tape, anything will be fine] to the base paper. Remember that some of the base will show so don't put adhesive on the very bottom.

11. Place papers in desired order. Repeat this step for the other side.

12. Flip the paper over and trim off excess with exacto knife.

13. You are DONE! Yay, now you have your own personalized herringbone paper.
