Exciting changes at Making Memories!

You may have noticed that it has been a little quiet on the blog the past few weeks.  We have had a lot going on around here and we are excited to announce that Making Memories has formed a new partnership with Colorbok!  Colorbok has been in the craft and hobby industry since 1984, so as you can imagine...there is a lot of smart business and creative power backing our brand!

Needless to say, this new opportunity for Making Memories is fantastic and we can’t wait to rejuvenate the brand so that you will continue to be inspired! Making Memories has always been recognized for its trend-setting products and craft innovation. You can expect nothing less from us moving forward!  Thank you so much to all of our loyal customers and brand followers.  Your passion for the craft is what keeps these wheels turning and as always we love and listen to your feedback.  As the industry has changed over the past few years, one thing has remained intact and that is the desire to create.  Whether you create to preserve memories, decorate your home, embellish your fashions or design the perfect gifts for loved ones, it is our desire to provide you with the ideas and product solutions to make your experience that much more enjoyable.   We will continue to update you on new product releases, company news and lots of ideas and inspiration!

As we move through the transition phase of the business over the next few months, we would love to hear even more from you! It has been made clear to us that consumers have wanted to see much more of Making Memories and that is our #1 goal.  What have been your favorite MM products over the past 15 years (that's right....15 years!) Sneak Peak! CHA Winter 2012 InivisiCut for the Slice

Using the innovative Slice Fabrique digital die-cut machine, fabric crafters and quilters around the world will now be able to cut shapes from fabric for appliqué or other projects WITHOUT FUSIBLE WEB BACKING or a stabilizer.  The revolutionary, patent-pending product, InvisiCut™, opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for the world of fabric and crafts.

Since launching the Slice Fabriqué in 2011, consumers have provided rave reviews on the machines custom-formulated Fusible Web that sells exclusively with the Slice Fabrique machine. InvisiCut is a specially engineered adhesive film that is placed on the top surface of the fabric when using the Slice Fabrique.  After the design cut is complete, the user simply peels off the film layer which leaves no adhesive residue or stabilizer on the fabric. InvisiCut enables materials such as tulle, silk, cotton, wool, rayon, lace and many other textiles to be cut in the most intricate shapes and sizes with digital precision – all without the use of scissors and templates.

Quilters and crafters have been thrilled with the abilities of Slice Fabriqué and the quality of our Fusible Web Stabilizer.  However, scores of users have wished for a way to cut without a stabilizer.  Well, we have done it ladies!  InvisiCut is finally here and you’re going to love it! Excited News from Making Memories

Making Memories is excited to announce our merger with ANW/Crestwood, Inc., the parent company of The Paper Company, Creativity Works, and TPC Studios. As a result, Making Memories will continue to leverage its brand by maintaining all creative, marketing, and product development functions.  
 
This merger will allow Making Memories to refocus its energies on creating products in the scrapbooking, paper crafting, embellishment and creative tools business as well as its ongoing creative technology business under its Slice Brand in the papercrafting and fabric industries.
 
ANW/Crestwood president Mark Caliguire stated, “We will make sure that the creative energy and talent contained in the Making Memories team will be supported by the resources of ANW/Crestwood, but they will also have the independence to grow and develop product categories and brands. We believe it is critical that our companies can draw on the team where needed, but also have the freedom to go in complementary directions.”
 
Looking ahead, you can expect to see trend-forward products to be released at CHA. Making Memories is teaming up with various artists in addition to releasing a signature line that crosses categories into several crafting areas from mixed media, fashion accessories, scarpbooking, papercrafting, and more.
