Create your own decor for your next special occassion with Making Memories' Tie the Knot collection. This collection is great for big events like weddings and anniversaries, along with all the other ones inbetween.
Create your own flowers by cutting around a paper circle. Check out the video below to learn more.
Use the Slice to create decor for your home. These frames were created for a baby nursery. I took each letter of the alphabet and used the Slice to cut out an image to correspond.

I used the following design cards on this project:
We are lucky to have another project inspiration post today from guest designer Shelly Jaquet. We love the way she spiced up a simple wall hanging using a lot of Making Memories’ Je t’Adore Collection. What a great idea! Thanks Shelly!
I bought this frame a million years ago (okay, it was more like 5 or 6 years ago) when Robyn Werlich made something along these lines for a Making Memories project (as I recall it was for a Mother's Day gift). I recently rediscovered this little frame when we moved into our new home last month. I've been going through all of my supplies, trying to organize and purge...when I found it, I decided I was going to try to use it asap - and this is the result. I love the fun colors and designs in the Dilly Dally line and I love how all of the various pieces work together!
(And, yes, I realize the irony of having a spring project photographed with snow in the background. Welcome to Spring in Utah!)
Sarah Bargo sent me this Jet'Adore album and I fell in love. I wanted to share it with all of you to help you get inspired. Check out Sarah's blog for more informaiton about this project.
Hey there, it's Sarah here! The first time I caught a glimpse of the amazing new Je' t Adore collection, it was so beautiful I knew immediately that I wanted to create a mini album about all of the Love in my life. Since this will always be a continual topic, (hopefully, wink wink), I wanted to make it fairly easy to keep adding to it. Altering envelopes is a great way to do this! They are so easy to embellish and when you are done you have instant little pockets to stuff with journaling tags, love notes, and any ephemera you may collect along the way! Making Memories always has these great envelope packs with so much variety, I just love them! They work so perfectly!
I really enjoy making keepsakes like this because if something happens to me, I never want my kids & family to wonder about how much I truly adore & appreciate them! After all, that's why we scrapbook, right? Thank you Making Memories for having me today!!
The Slice is a GREAT tool to use when trimming your tree. These ornaments are easy to make and very affordable. We used Making Memories' holiday paper and Slice Fa La La Design Card.
To create these ornaments for your own tree, follow these simple instructions:
1. Choose a design from the Fa La La design card.
2.Cut your design three times (same size and same shape).
TIP: Cut the designs from multiple pieces of patterned paper
3. Lightly fold the shape in half.
4. Glue two shapes together (glue from the outside only until the fold) to make ornament.
5. Apply adhesive to the third shape and apply to the ornament.
6. Use a jump ring or wire to create loop to hang ornament.
To create this wreath, you need to cut various flowers out of patterned paper. Layer flowers together as desired and adhere them together. Add embellishments, such as flowers, to the center of flowers.
Adhere the flowers to a wooden wreath. I would recommend using a hot glue gun to adhere the flowers.
We get so many requests from our reader about this advent calendar so I thought I would post it again this year. This advent calendar was created by Katie from California. See below for her instructions.
Supplies Needed
White spray primer and spray paint
25 magnets (preferably silver and not black because black tends to leave scuff marks)
Buying the cookie sheet: You just need an inexpensive cookie sheet. The dollar store has a great selection. You DON'T want a Teflon one because the magnets wont stick.
Painting the coolie sheet: You need to use spray primer and paint. I used a primer called American Accents - Oil based primer (made by Rust-Oleum) and then followed it up with American Accents Blossom White spray paint in a smooth satin finish.
**Note: It is important to spray the middle of the coolie sheet even though it will be covered with paper. It only needs the primer and it doesn't have to be a perfect coat. Your paper will stick to the metal better with the primer coat.
Preparing the cookie sheet: Sand the edges of the cookie sheet lightly to give a distressed look. Brush off any paint dust from sanding.
Preparing the background (2 sheets of snowflake paper):Use a corner rounder to round the top two corners of one piece of paper and the bottom two corners of the other piece of paper.
Use a get glue (i.e. Fabri-tac), glue down the vintage snowflake papers, being sure to adhere as close to the edge of the cookie sheet as possible. Rub the paper down so that the glue underneath disperses evenly.
Glue down the red snowflake paper making sure the paper is centered (so the space above and below are even).
Create a calendar template (or download one here). Leave a little border all the way around instead of cutting it right to the black line.
Center the calendar paper in the middle of the red paper and adhere down.
Glue two strips of white ric-rac on the border of the red and green paper.
Arrange letter for the title. Distress edges for a vintage look.
Attach a wire hanger: Use your Instant Setter to punch two holes evenly apart on the outer edges of the cookie sheet. Thread a wire through, wrapping the ends up and around, trim any excess with wire cutters.
