Today we are excited to have Alicia King as Making Memories’ Guest Blog Designer. Alicia created a “My Favorite Things” album. Alicia described how she created this album.
Album Cover:
I mixed Making Memories stickers and stamps to create a unique title. I added a page pebbles over the M and the Y for dimension. I love that they fit perfectly! I used a crystal brad through the Making Memories paper flower, and sewed a zig zag stitch over some lace. Then I adhered my paper to the acrylic album cover. I cut the same scallop for the backside of the cover, to hide my sewing and the brad.
Intro Page:
A few of my favorite things…
I love to mix and match alphabet letters in stickers, chipboard, metal as well as alphabet stamps for a fun eclectic feel! I added a button to the center of the stamped flower.
I Love my Bronco:
Mix up different pattern papers, I tend to look at the colors first, and then arrange patterns according to how I think they look the best! I used a scallop punch on the green polka dot paper to break up the straight lines. I always love to add a bit of sewing onto my pages. It adds texture to your pages and thread comes in every possible color! I love to group stickers together, mix and match...anything goes! I used my favorite screw eyelet in place of the 'o' in LOVE! Fits perfect with my Bronco page!
My favorite Drink:
One of my favorite things to do is to run my patterned paper or cardstock through my printer for my journaling. For my journaling strips, I just typed my journaling into PSE {you can use Microsoft Word or whatever is on your computer} and then printed onto regular printer paper. Then use your scraps {I used mm ledger paper} and adhere over the top of the paper using double stick tape. Then stick it back into your printer, and print again. Your journaling will now be on your patterned paper! Cut into strips and adhere to your page!
My favorite Store:
I love Making Memories scalloped die cut paper! I just stamped my title, printed my journaling directly onto the patterned paper, and then put a brad for the center of the flower to add dimension!
My favorite shoes:
Simple, yet cute! Stamped my title. Swiped a little Making Memories Meadow paint, and then added Making Memories rub-ons over the top to make it stand out more! I added a Making Memories’ paper flower, with a prima one and a brad, and added a brown zig zag stitch to make the flower stem stand out!
Thanks Alicia for sharing this album with us. Keep your camera handy and take pictures of your favorite things so you can create an album just like this.
