We are lucky to have another project inspiration post today from guest designer Shelly Jaquet. We love the way she spiced up a simple wall hanging using a lot of Making Memories’ Je t’Adore Collection. What a great idea! Thanks Shelly!
What home décor items have you spiced up lately?
I had a simple corkboard with a black frame that I picked up for a discount. I wanted to spice it up a little bit and do a “What We Love” project to display during the month of February. We had a brain storming session as a family with all the things that we love individually and together. Then, I grabbed simple shipping tags that you can purchase at any office supply store and went to town with them. I included a picture of our very favorite loves, and then made a list of all the rest. I used various pattern papers from the Je t'Adore Collection as background patterns for some of the tags. The plain shipping tags, I jazzed them up a bit using the fun Je t'Adore rub-ons. The Je t'Adore vintage frames were the perfect little touch to frame the embossed shimmer alphabets that I used as monograms. I wanted to add a touch of extra color to give it a little more pop. So, I shuffled through some of my scraps to find some older Making Memories papers from Note Worthy and FaLaLa. I love that you can mix and match with each Collection. To pin them up on the board, I used the Vintage Findings gem pins; the perfect final touch.
Once I am ready to switch out tags, I can simply slide them on a binder ring, and they will become a simple little mini-book. Then, I will be ready to create a new display for my corkboard.
