Guest Designer Helena Johansson

Today's guest designer comes all the way from Sweden. Help us welcome Helena Johansson. Helena explains how she created this project.

My favourite Making Memories collection (so far!) is Vintage findings, and I have used these gorgeous papers and embellies over and over again. I made this layout using Vintage findings papers and some embellies, and added Falala-flowers (they worked perfect with this summer-layout, even though they are Christmas-flowers!) and a clear alpha, Funky Chocolate.
 
I divided the diecut-paper and then put the two pieces together again, with three doilies in different sizes in between. The other two papers, Music Edge findings and Map findings, I’ve distressed and wrinkled the edges a bit.

I’ve put a little stamp from the Vintage findings collection inside the Flutter locket.

Sometimes when I distress the paper edges, the paper rips apart. But I don’t mind that at all, it gives the layout that little “extra”. Notice the little garment pin, they are so cute and you can put them anywhere!

Helena threw in a bonus project for us to also enjoy. She created this bookmark using the scraps she had leftover from her project.

Slice Kitchen Frames

Guest Designer Erin Griswold

Today we are excited to have Erin Griswold as Making Memories guest designer. Erin created a project using her Slice that she is sharing with us. Erin explains how she created this page.

I make many pages about my “kids” so I wanted to make a special page for each one.  This one is for Pickles, my Miniature Dachshund.  She loves to sit in the sun in the mornings and I captured her in this happy state.  I use the Chloe’s Closet Paper as the background and the photo mat.  I was very excited to try the new Drawing tips for my Slice.  I used the Paws & Claws design card to draw the “Dog Gone”  (tip: when you place your Slice on the paper, use a pencil on the corners to mark where it sits so you can place it in exactly the same spot for the Shadow.)  After I changed the pen tip back to the blade, I cut out the rest.  The “Sweet” is from the Parties design card as well as the “Pickles.”  All other cut out pieces are from the Paws & Claws card.  I cut the pompoms off the orange ribbon from the Cheeky collection to accent the “O”s.

Paper Reverie Hair Accessories

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that Paper Reverie Florets. When they came in the office my jaw dropped and my head started spinning with lots of creative ideas. The Paper Reverie Florets can be used for SO much. I love them for scrapbooking, home decor and for hair accessories. I accessorized some older headbands that I had to give them a new look. Paper Reverie Shadow Box

Here is a fun idea for a quick home decor project. Use these Paper Reverie paper butterflies to fill a shadow box. 

First cover the back of the shadow box with a sheet of Paper Reverie double sided paper. Add your photo and any journaling you might want to add. I used a Paper Reverie ephemera sticker and adhered it with a dimensional adhesive. Next fill your shadow box with lots and lots of butterflies.
