March is the month for Saint Patrick's day. Which means that March is often associated with the color green. We challenged designer Laura Vegas, to use the color green as her inspiration.
My house is filled with the color green. Green walls, green accents, even green couches. In choosing a single inspiration piece, I decided to go with this one flower that is in a shadow box project that hangs on my family room wall. I love how fluffy it is, with all the layers and the button in the middle.
Every year, on Saint Patrick's Day, I claim that my green eyes count towards not getting pinched. Usually, people will buy it! So it seemed like a fun idea to create a layout about my green eyes. I kept with mostly green products, working in some turquoise and off white. It was really fun to go through all my older Making Memories products from over the years, and pull pieces out that would work on this layout.
For the flower, I choose a single flower design from the basic shapes 2 slice design card. And I sliced that flower in all different sizes, from 1.5 inches up to 4 inches. I cut them from various pattern papers, and vellum. I also crumbled them up a little bit, to give them some extra texture. I layered them all together, and added a threaded button to the center.
How will you be inspired by the color green?
