This winter has really been a crazy one for us here on the east coast. We've reached record highs in snow totals and with all that, I am so ready for some warm weather. Creating with the new Making Memories' Flutter collection has inspired me to break out some favorite photos that remind me Spring.
For my "Rain or Shine' page, I wanted to play off on the idea of using random amounts of rain drops in several sizes falling from clouds. To do so, I used the Calendar design card and Slice machine to cut out my rain drop shapes with vellum paper. Using Flutter clear stamps, I added stamped images to three of the rain drops and backed each with pattern paper and pop dotted.
The technique I used was to create a double outline around my embossed shape using the Slice. You have to have a design card that is labeled MS+ to do this technique. Select the image you want, I chose a flower from the Vintage Findings design card. Pick the size and make sure it is "normal' (not mirrored). Emboss shape onto the paper. Once it has finished, keep Slice in same position and select "shadow" and emboss. EASY!!
You've created an outline for your shape (as you can see I did this on one of the clouds using solid pattern paper & raindrop). To cut a shape out with the embossed shape, just use a scrap piece of paper to cut out the shape you want to use as a template. Place that template over your embossed shape to make sure it's where you want it to be, remove template and cut. Make sure you replace the embossing tip with the blade.
