My best friend Roma was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last November. Her story is one of courage and encouragement. She is absolutely the most amazing woman that I know. We've been friends for a very long time, and I have always loved and respected her and learned so much from her. But in the past year, she has taught me so much more than I ever thought possible. I think the most important lesson I've learned from her is to believe in answered prayers.
I have learned about awareness, support, hope, and love. Through her battle with this disease, I've struggled to even say the "C" word out loud; she's faced this cancer head-on and emerged victorious over it.
I am so proud to know someone like my friend, someone who remained strong throughout her ordeal, and even in the midst of her struggle provided encouragement to me. She always kept telling me that everything was going to be all right. She still faces another surgery in a couple of months, but I know that she is going to be just fine. God has brought her this far and He'll be with her the rest of the way.
