Gratitude Cards
Since we’re right in the middle of the season of Thanksgiving, I decided to take a few minutes to impress upon my children (once again) the importance of recognizing the things and people we are so grateful for. I thought it would be fun to create some “Thank you” cards and let the kids complete them. I wanted the cards to be beautiful, but still colorful and fun, that’s why I chose Making Memories' Paperie collection. Since there are four color sets and I have four kiddos, it was perfect.
I created one card with each color set (red, green, blue, brown), leaving some sort of blank space on the front of each one. Next, I gave one card to each child and let them “fill in the blanks.” I told them they could make the card for whoever (or is it whomever??) they wanted to…but they had to fill in the blank on the front and write a message on the inside as well (of course, the little boys just told me what they wanted to say and I wrote it down for them).
This is Meagan’s card. She chose to write a message on the front blank portion AND the inside. (I promise I didn’t tell her she had to write it to me…that was just her – being sweet.)
Josh is still a bit of a train fanatic – so he drew a quick train and some hearts in his blank space.
Seth completely colored the blank circle on his card (he even chose the coordinating BLUE to color with). He asked me to put a picture of him in the circle – so I printed one out and he helped me staple it on.
Zach is only 2…so I picked out two shades of brown colored pencils and let him color in the blank space. I know it’s only scribbles…but he was proud of his card, so I was too!
This would be a fun Thanksgiving Day (or ANY day) activity to do with your family – and the Making Memories' Paperie collection is the perfect line to compliment your gratitude cards!
