Hanging Out with Gail
I'm sitting here with Gail Pierce-Watne on the end of day one and asked her about her impressions of the event so far:
Our booth has been absolutely the busiest I have ever seen any trade show because the reaction to the Slice -- the enthuisiasm -- everyone is so excited.
The designs on the Slice are amazing. There are a lot of die-cutting machines and devices, but they're often so limited. All the Making Memories designs are cutting edge and when we realized we could take our shapes and our designs - like scalloped edge frames, artisan shapes, and alphabets, that's when we got excited. Then it works so well and it does such a great job, that you see all the possibilities.
I've seen two groups from Australia - Michelle from PrintBlock was here. I taught at their classes in Australia. I also saw Joy from Bumblebee - such fun! And then I met my friend from South Africa - Glenda - who puts on these huge events there. It's almost like a CKU. And I'm going to teach there in September. They have 800 students. It's a huge event!
It's always so great to see people from the industry, it's just so much fun to catch up. And some of the students I had in the Netherlands was here. All of these people that you see all over the world, and you realize you last saw them in the Netherlands and now, all of a sudden, they are here. It's a great coming together.
