What fun it was to get my hand dirty with these bautiful stamps. For this challenge, Jenny asked me to use the Magnetic Stamps in a new way. I decided to make a page for my very special friend, Lina, who did me a huge favour by giving me a make over! Now, who would not love a girl friend like that? She made me feel like a million bucks and I wanted to say thank you in the way I know best! I often use words/journaling as texture on my page and that was my idea for this page too.
First, I stamped a lot of words on a plain white paper that I felt describe Lina. I used the providence and rummage stamps. I did not stamp a whole page, but only about 5 lines. Then I made a few copies of the page and cut them up and pasted them to make a collage of words. Then I made a copy of the collage on a transparency. To bring out the words on the transparency, I painted the back with baby blue MM scrapbook colors (Daiquiri). I silhouetted Lina's picture and adhered it to the top of the of the transparency and then embellished it with trim, tags and the title (all from the MM Funky Vintage series). I painted the title words on the back with pink paint so that they are more visible and stitched them to the trim. I used black card stock for a background because I wanted to keep the focus on Lina. I want to encourage you to use these magnetic stamps in a new way (or follow my technique) and upload those babies to the MM gallery! We are all excited to see what you come up with! Don't forget the first rule of scrapbooking: Have fun!!! Kiss-kiss
