Last Minute Easter Project Idea

Do you need a last minute Easter project idea, well here you go.  This idea comes from Making Memories Celebrations book.  I don’t know if you have ever thought about using your scrapbooking embellishments for your Easter decorations, but you can.  Try using rub-ons, mini blossoms, ribbon, stickers and so much more.  You will be amazed at how beautiful they turn out.  You’ll love them so much better than the little white crayons and stickers that come in the box of Easter egg dye. 

Here what you need to do:

1.  Blow out jumbo sized eggs and dye as desired

2.  Add mini blossoms and gem stickers to one egg

3.  Add rub-ons to a few eggs, adding flower and crystal brads if desired

4.  Cut flowers from trim and glue all over egg for a mosaic look

5.  Cut small pieces of patterned papers and decoupage to egg for a mosaic look

6.  Add letter stickers, ribbons, buttons, petals and buckles

Petals, mini Blossoms, rub-ons mini, rub-on images, rub-on wordage, ribbon, Simply Fabulous trims, Boho Chic trims (Lauren), MM Kids Fresh stickers, gem stickers, crystal brads

 

Month Long Challenge – “Things I Love”

Instead of doing a weekly challenge each week, we are extending it to month long challenge.  We will be creating an entire album during the month of April entitled “Things I Love.”  To make it consistent throughout the album, we decided to use the MM Fresh Anthology line.  This week we are focusing on the actual album.  In the weeks to follow we will be learning fun techniques and filling out albums with pages about the ‘things’ we love, the ‘people’ we love and the ‘places’ we love.  We hope that you will join us. 

This first challenge comes from Christy:

When I created this album, I wanted to create a shabby/edgy look using lots of different mediums. I started by using the flower foam stamps and the new Fresh Anthology paint. I stamped flower images onto transparency film (that you can purchase from any office supply store). Once dry, I cut out around each flower and then decorated the centers with buttons or stickers. I wanted a fresh but funky look to my album cover, so I also used some dainty ribbon, but bright paints as well. I painted around the outside edge of my album with pink paint, and also swapped out the white ribbon that comes in the album for the yellow Fresh Anthropology Ribbon. I finished it off with some stickers, buttons and pop dots to add dimension in some places. Now I can't wait to fill up this album!  Bring on the challenges!

We Need Your VOTE Again

We are on to challenge #5 and we have 10 contestants left.  We’ve heard that a picture can paint a thousand words, so we thought we would put it to the test.  Our contestants were required to create a layout, a 3-D object, an item for the home, or something we’ve never thought of before.  The requirement for this week is to include nine photographs in the project.  Why nine, you ask, well just because we said so!
