The challenge this week comes Karla. If you remember, she we featured her a few weeks ago after running into her blog. She has great ideas so we thought it would be fun for you to hear from here.
My challenge for you all this week is to make a mini pocket book out of a template. Here I made three pockets using the 3 Making Memories pocket & envelope template kit and two pieces of paper.
For the Tag Envelopes first I slightly overlapped the patterned paper over the kraft paper and sewed in a zig zag stitch down the middle seam. I made three of these. Next I took the Tag Envelope template, traced out the pattern and cut it out. Score and fold. Without adhering any edges yet, I punched a hole in the envelope. I backed that with patterned vellum and black cardstock. On top of that I added a button. Next I adhered all the edges down and the envelope was then ready to be filled and embellished. To attach to the chain I punched small holes out of the kraft paper (a total of 6) and added one to the front and back corners of each envelope. I used an Anywhere Hole Punch to punch a whole in the middle of that & added the eyelet for the chain to go through.
For the miniBOOKLET inside each envelope I cut a small rectangle from the patterned paper, patterned vellum and ledger paper. Folded each in half and sewed down the middle. Added my journaling and slipped it inside each envelope. For the pictures I printed them out. Backed them with the the coordinating patterned paper and laminated the pictures to preserve them.
All in all you only need 3 sheets of 12x12 patterned paper, 1 sheet of kraft or plain paper and 1 sheet of vellum. Have Fun!!!!
