Photo Swap part II

Jenny challenged us to swap photos for this challenge. What is amazing about a photo swap is that with "new" photos come "new" creative thoughts. I thought that the pictures of Amira that Keisha sent me are just gorgeous. Keisha and I both have 9 year old girls.  Since we have that in common, we thought that we would swap photos of our 9 year olds.  So, for me to have a look into another 9 year old was a wonderful opportunity.

My challenge to you is to do a photo swap with a friend for 4 pictures of the same event. You can even swap pictures that you don't want to scrapbook or maybe don't know how to scrapbook. The second part to this challenge is to use all 4 photos on one page. As you can see here, I shrunk 3 of the pictures to make them little tags. However you want to do it, will be great.  Show us your creations by uploading them to MM gallery! YAY! I can't wait to see them!

It is hard on everyone. So I toast the recruiters, the deployed soldiers, the wives the children for letting our soldiers defend our country so we can live our day to day lives..... as ell as I toast to the soxside of Chicago!!!!!!

I'm toasting my sweet daughter Shanna who gave me a grandson 5 years ago this St. Patrick’s Day. Yes, he is our little lucky charm. She has raised this bright, funny, and quirky little boy all by herself. Teaching him right from wrong and how to grow into a sweet loving young boy. Photos Swap Challenge

I was thrilled to be doing a photo swap with Wilna!! She has such an amazing artsy style, that intimidates me!!! I wanted to keep my layout simple with an artsy-type flair. I tried to get a bit funky with my own handwriting, which by the way doesn’t work for me as well as it does for Wilna. 

This was my first time using Fresh Anthology and I loved it!! The program line helped me keep to my clean shabby style and pick up on Wilna's artsy vibe. I wanted to challenge myself by using my slot punch for the ribbon. Two things I love, but forget to use as often as I like!

I created this page first by lightly tracing the outline of the main pink dotted paper, so I know where to stamp my background images. Once I was done stamping I added back the dotted pattern paper, strip of green paper, and the main photo. I cut a small piece out of the yellow paper, rounded the corners and placed this to the lower left of my layout. I added the smaller photos and sticker. Then, I stitched the sticker down a few times with my sewing machine and added a flower and button overtop.  For the ribbon, I used the slot punch on both sides to slide the ribbon through with the tag.  For the title, I added letters to scrap pieces of paper and stitched it to the layout also. 

For this weeks challenge, try to use classic paper and add your own artistic flair. Keep three things in mind to challenge yourself.

1. Add texture to your page
2. Alter.  This doesn’t have to be messy, but take an item and make it uniquely yours.  You can try using paint, ink, etc.
3. Use different types of materials or mix and match pieces from multiple programs.

When you are done, either upload your page to the MM Idea Gallery or post a comment and link us to your blog.  Take a look next Thursday to see Wilna’s take on my photos and the Fresh Anthology line.
