Quesadilla Party

At Making Memories we like to have parties – Quesadilla parties!

It has become a tradition here to celebrate all kinds of events (new babies, weddings, etc.) with homemade quesadillas.  We have 3 pros that can pull of a quesadilla party like nothing else.  Thank goodness for Jodi, Jodi, and Danielle.  Here are a few photos of the event.  It makes me want another one when I look at these photos!  Yum, Yum!!!

In other news, Yosha’s back!!!!!  I’m sure a lot of you will remember her from consumer shows throughout the year.  She’s our cute little helper.  We all got to take turns holding Aiden who is 3 months old today.  Another reason to celebrate.  What a great way to celebrate coming back to work with a quesadilla party.

Party Favor and Invitation Challenge

This week’s challenge is to use products from the Halloween line to create party favors and invitations (or anything Halloween-ey to add to your celebrations this year).  This set of product is one of my favorite…ever and I’ve had so much fun creating projects with it! 

 

For the challenge, I created an invitation using the Dotted paper, Halloween striped ribbon, Halloween tags, clips, and word fetti.  I had to incorporate the slot punch tool as well (if you do this, be sure to punch the holes and add the ribbon BEFORE you stitch the patterned paper onto the cardstock…otherwise you’ll have to adjust the size of your insert because you’ll lose about an inch of space inside your pocket. 

And for my little party favors, I used a little bit of EVERYTHING in the Halloween line to embellish some cute little paper mache boxes I bought at the craft store.  First I coated each box with paint, then embellished them with ribbons, papers, stickers, etc.  I used the universal glue to attach the paper to my boxes – loved this because it dried fast and didn’t make my paper bubbly, and I used the ribbon glue to attach the ribbons – if you haven’t tried this glue yet, you should, it works SO well, and fast too!

I can hardly wait for our Halloween Celebration, I have more ideas for decorations (check our our line of chipboard decorations, ready for you to embellish any way you like), and creepy treats, and other scary things!  If you’re as anxious as I am, take my challenge and post your projects in the gallery – I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Congratulations to the following people who made it to the next round of MM Idol: Jennifer, Robyn, Scott, and Wilna.  Like we mentioned in the post yesterday, this was a tight race with only a few votes separating the contestants at times.  Now that these 4 contestants can breath a little easier, it's time for another challenge.  For more information on what they will be expected to do this week, visit the MM Idol site. Their new submissions and voting will go up again on October 16th.  Voting will start at 12:01 AM and end at Midnight.  Make sure to check it out and vote next Monday so your favorite contestant can make it to the next round.

All five contestants for the MM Idol contest are literally neck-and-neck. The order keeps changing by only one or two votes - we're sweating bullets here watching the lead (and the tail) change ... There's no way to know right now WHO will be eliminated.

So - PLEASE make sure you cast your vote for your favorite design. Right now every vote is making a huge difference.  The voting ends at midnight tonight.
