Being a collector of vintage ribbon and rick-rack, I love to create embellishments using these items. This is a great technique to add color and dimension to any card, page or project. Vary the width of the rick-rack, create a cluster of flowers to add to a corner, add a rhinestone brad or button to the center, or brush the edges lightly with a distressing ink pad.
Whatever you choose, these flowers are great every time.
Here are some quick instructions for creating these beautiful flowers.
1. Count 16 points along the bottom edge of rick-rack and cut.
2. With a double-threaded needle, stitch through 16 points and pull on the end of thread to gather. (Make sure petals all go in the same direction.)
3. Pull tight, tie ends of thread together to secure and glue ends of rick-rack together.
They are so fun and easy to make. Give it a try.
