It sounded easy and straight forward enough, do a make n’ take at Scrapbook Warehouse’s two locations outside Dallas on Easter Saturday. And it did start out relatively uneventful until the plane landed in Dallas and Jodi (Holbrook – MM’s event coordinator) couldn’t remember where we were staying!
No problem, we had internet access at the airport, now off to get our rental car. No problem there either, we even had step-by-step directions on how to reach our hotel. This is where it all unraveled. We drove and drove. Nothing that we were seeing on the signs at the airport was anything like what we were seeing on the map. We drove and drove and drove for one hour; still within the confines of DFW airport have you. We finally stopped at a convenience store (yes, DFW is big enough to have several on their grounds) and asked a sweet (if not surprised by the photography) young man named Carlos how we could get out of the AIRPORT!!!!
The next day (yes, we did find the Hotel, arriving after midnight) we were excited to arrive at Scrapbook Warehouse. We knew that while we were there, they would be having another event going on, live bunnies and a professional photographer so that moms and dads could bring their little ones for photos.
We did a wonderful project for the make n’ take. We decorated little colored Easter pails with MM Kids trims and stickers. This is project that was inspired by a project that Kris Stanger did for the Decorated Life: Home Décor book (always shamelessly plugging). We met a lot of wonderful, wonderful scrappers and their children. Lines were long for the bunny pictures (up to an hour and a half) still the customers and the staff was gracious, friendly, enthusiastic and thankful!
For the first half of the day I wore really cute shoes..Jody (being a lot smarter than I) wore really comfy flip, flops. We made a quick trip to Target on our way to the next location and both showed up wearing matching flip-flops and big smiles! More bunnies, more great people. Thanks to everyone who came to Scrapbook Warehouse, for a fun and furry time!
